Personality: Outgoing, conscientious, loyal, empathetic, determined, and confident. 

Professional Experience:  LaTequa earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science with a focus on Surgical Technology from Miller-Motte College in Wilmington, N.C. She is NBSTA certified, and is registered with the Association of Surgical Technologists. Additionally, LaTequa has her BLS certification. With numerous years of OR experience, LaTequa has become proficient in surgical instrumentation, patient positioning, specialty surgical cases, and infection control. She is skilled in anticipating the needs of the surgical team. As well, she has gained experience through functioning as a surgical liaison, assisting with tray development, management, inservices, and troubleshooting with outside vendors.

When LaTequa came to Medworks, it was the mission statement of "Making the Room Better" that resonated with her. Being experienced in the hustle and bustle of the operating room, she wanted to be on a team that recognized excellence along with the desire to add value to the space.

Passions: LaTequa enjoys time with family and friends, taking trips, and baking. She is involved with a non-profit called PAL, an organization that offers mentorships to young men and women ages 12 - 18. The program allows these young mentees to learn and develop life skills such as communication, preparation for school, interviews, college, and life's challelnges.
